Moulin Rouge! The Musical
There is no better way to spend an evening with your loved one than immersed in the vividly sensual and gloriously romantic story of Mountain Rouge!
Adapted from Baz Luhmann’s Oscar-nominated 2001 movie, the musical is set in 1899 Paris and tells the story of an English songwriter, Christian, who falls for a cabaret singer Satine. Obstacles arise, as do an array of blockbuster pop songs everyone loves, from Elton John’s Your Song to the much-covered Lady Marmalade.
What’s more, this updated version of the tale features more modern hits that hadn’t been released when the original movie came out, from Katy Perry’s Firework to Sia’s Chandelier.

New York City Ballet’s The Nutcracker
Next on our list of things to do in New York City for couples, what could be more romantic than the ballet? And not just any ballet, but the world-leading New York City Ballet, and its interpretation on this iconic and gorgeous story.
Indeed, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s take on E.T.A. Hoffman fairy tale is a sugary, sweet crowd pleaser that’ll leave you warm inside. In it, a little girl embarks on an adventure to the Land of Sweets on Christmas Eve, and while that may sound childish (and certainly, it’s child-friendly) the sweeping score, timeless story, and ever-tasteful production is more than enough to leave adults – and lovers – spellbound.
And at two hours plus intermission, it’s also the perfect length for date night!

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)
After undergoing extensive renovations in recent years, The Museum of Modern Art, or MoMA is cementing its legacy as the world’s premiere collection of blockbuster modern masterpieces by world-famous artistic names, from Frida Kahlo to Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh.
We dare you and your loved one not to be moved by some of the utterly arresting paintings on display, like, for instance, Monet’s Water Lilies – a breathtakingly beautiful sight, now synonymous with MoMA – and Paul Cezanne’s Still Life with Ginger Jar, Sugar Bowl and Oranges, known for its alluringly lush colour scheme.
