It can seem like the Royal Family are never not out of the headlines these days, but in truth, that’s always been the case – hence why a new musical has popped up inspired by perhaps the most famous Royal in memory: the one and only Princess Diana.

Based on the life and times of the beloved icon and late mother of Princes William and Harry, this production is coming to the Longacre Theatre next month.

It chronicles her joining the Royal Family at the tender age of 20 and the eventual breakdown of her marriage to Prince Charles in the 90s. She of course died in a traffic collision in Paris in 1997. And while it is the tragic aspects of her story that are often remembered, this musical will also celebrate her lighter moments – not least by recreating some of her most incredible outfits.

    Girl From the North Country

Finally on our things to do in NYC round up for people who love theatre, it’s Girl From the North Country, featuring music and lyrics by the legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.

Showing at Belasco Theatre, Conor McPherson’s epic story is set in 1934, and a Minnesota guest house full of lonely wanderers who are hungry for connection and resolution. Each character takes to the microphone to tell their story via song (famous numbers performed include Like a Rolling Stone, True Love Tends to Forget, Make You Feel My Love and the title track, Girl From the North Country), resulting in a soul-stirring musical tapestry that’s more than the sum of its parts.
